Finally feeling better. I've had a cold for almost a week but am happy to say that I didn't have to drink any Dayquil today which is a nice little victory. Last week was Christmas of course and I spent Christmas morning in church with my family, the afternoon at Aunt Angela's house helping her set the tables and get things ready for dinner and the evening eating way too much food and watching my little cousins open presents. Christmas really is for kids.

Now that I'm older, I don't really find that I ever want anything for Christmas since I buy the things that I want for myself throughout the year. However, I bought myself an early Christmas gift last week when I won a fantastic pair of Jeffrey Campbell boots on Ebay. I'd been looking for these boots ever since I saw Zana from Garbage Dress wear them in photos in one of her posts. I lost a bid on a pair a few months ago but would periodically check Ebay to see if another pair got listed. I'm happy to say that I now own a pair of those gorgeous boots and I didn't even have to pay an arm and a leg for them. The Internet is the best.
A lot has changed since I last posted. I started a new job as a music publicist at a record label, I got a kitten (who's now almost 6 months old), the Shakes broke up and Passion Pit is bigger than ever! The Antlers had one of the best albums of the year with Hospice and I have discovered the awesomeness that are BDG jeans from Urban Outfitters. Here's a picture of the cat from September.

My uncle named him Gigi. Yes, he. But we didn't know he was a boy when we started calling him that. So now we tell people that Gigi is short for Giovanni.
On Saturday, my family and I went to the annual Christmas dance that my Aunt Margaret's church has. I only just found a dress a couple of weeks ago but am happy to say that it fit me pretty well. It's from Express and is a pretty similiar to those popular banded dresses that I've seen a lot of in the last yera or so. Jeazette took this picture with my iPhone before we left the house.

Since my camera died as we were taking photos in the lobby (I could've sworn that those batteries were fully charged) most of the "action" shots from the night were taking by Adhalia with her camera. I'm hoping I can steal the ones she took and put them up on flickr soon.
I have the week off, so I spent the day at Aunt V's watching movies (and doing some laundry in between). Finally saw Brideshead Revisited, Brick Lane, and The Remains of the Day. Enjoyed all immensely and I'd suggest them to anyone. Tomorrow I will go back to my house since I have an appointment with the eye doctor on Wednesday and it's much easier to walk to the train station from my house than from over here.
I have loads of photos from shows I've gone to over the last 6 months but I'll get to that later. I'm happy that it's only Monday and I look forward to relaxing for the rest of the week.
